Genie Byrd

Genie Byrd‘s thirty-four years as teacher, school administrator, and counselor provide the foundation for her writing. She is inspired by her love of education and family, her deep faith, and her sense of sharing legacy with the next generation.
Genie is a wife, mother, and grandmother, and is actively involved in the lives of her grandchildren, teaching piano and finding joy motivating them.
She is a proud volunteer for Augusta Project Linus, making blankets for children in grief. Her fourth book, Charlie Loses A Friend, provides another support for those struggling with grief and loss.
Genie is an accomplished organist and pianist, and a widely traveled motivational speaker who delights in encouraging children, educators, parents and grandparents around the world. One of her favorite activities is visiting schools and motivating students to write. She delights with teacher feedback of student motivation after her visits.
Genie continues her love of teaching through writing children’s books and speaking for school assemblies and conferences. She is available for speaking engagements and will motivate all who attend. Contact her for scheduling at geniebyrd@gmail.com.

Genie and her husband James love to travel, are involved in their local church, and live in Evans, Georgia.
